Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn recently visited Sabarimala Temple in Kerala. Several photos of him from his pilgrimage surfaced online. Ahead of his visit to Sabrimala temple, the Singham actor reportedly observed month-long pre-pilgrimage rituals. Right from sleeping on a mat on the floor, consuming only vegetarian food to walking barefoot, details of rituals that Ajay Devgn followed before taking darshan have been revealed.

According to a report in Etimes, the actor observed the rituals for 11 days.  A source close to his family revealed to the portal, “For 11 days, he slept on a chattai on the floor, wore black, did the Ayyappa Pooja twice a day, ate only vegetarian food without any garlic/onion, walked bare foot wherever he went, didn’t use any perfume and did not have any alcohol.”

Ajay was accompanied by his cousins-Vikrant and veteran actor Dharmendra, who had also reportedly followed the same rituals. The Tanhaji actor had also shared a short video of himself, where he was seen dressed in a black outfit. The post was captioned, “Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa.”

As per the official website of the temple, a pilgrimage to Sabarimala is all about the test of senses. Pilgrims are expected to lead a simple pious life known as ‘Vrutham’ for the successful completion of the pilgrimage. An insider also mentioned that Ajay has been following quite a few rituals required for a month or so. Among them is to wear only black colour, not cut hair or nails for about a month, and not to shave either.” ALSO READ:Kajol Visits Ajay's Shivaay Sets In Mussoorie
