Ajay Devgn and former Disney India head Siddharth Roy Kapur have joined hands for a comedy-drama film titled Gobar! The movie is set in the 1990s inspired by real-life incidents when an animal-loving vet gets to know about a corruption racket taking place in a local state hospital, and hence deciding to take a strong stand against it.
As per reports in Variety.com, the movie is set to be based in Northern India and will go on floors by the end of 2021. While Sabal Shekhawat from the advertising field will take over the director’s seat, he has also penned the script along with Sambhit Mishra. Meanwhile, the makers are in the midst of finalizing the cast. As reported in Variety.com Siddharth Roy Kapur states the film will bring on many laughs along with a simple message shedding light on the powers vested in the common man.
Siddharth said, “Gobar! is a story that chronicles the seemingly pointless but ultimately heroic journey of a simple citizen who deals with corruption in a way that will bring on many laughs, much adventure, and ultimately a simple message about the power of the common man. What makes the film entertaining and unique is that it is a situational comedy that sheds light on the inner workings of power.”
Director Sabal Shekhawat assured that this comedy-drama will let people experience the charm of the 90s in a small town.
“Gobar! is a film that will take viewers back to the charming days of the 90s and the simple life of small-town living,” said director Shekhawat.
Ajay Devgn’s recent production venture, The Big Bull starring Abhishek Bachchan is highly appreciated by the audience.
