For the past few days, many Bollywood celebrities have taken to their respective social media handles to raise concerns over the exorbitant electricity bills that they have received. Starting with Taapsee Pannu who received a bill of Rs 36,000, other stars like Renuka Sahane, Pulkit Samrat, Neha Dhupia, and more also complained of receiving massive bills. Huma Qureshi topped the chart as she received a bill of Rs 50,000. Now, it is filmmaker Hansal Mehta who is complaining about the same.
The Omerta filmmaker took to his Twitter handle to share that he has received a bill of almost 18,000 despite him not being at home for the past four months amidst the lockdown to make any consumption. He wrote, "Haven't been home in Mumbai for 4 months. Yet my electricity bill this month is Rs. 18030/-. Wassup @Adani_Elec_Mum?" To this, TV actor Karanvir Bohra came up with a hilarious response tweeting, "Bijalee Girane Mai Hu Aayee Kehte Hain Mujhko ...Ada adani Smiling face with smiling eyes. Telling you, shift to
@TataPower @mehtahansal."
Meanwhile, actor Arshad Warsi too received a hefty electricity bill, however, he called for controversy when he made a tweet against the owner of the electricity provider company. He received an angry reply in return, after which, he deleted his tweet. Arshad Warsi was charged almost 1 Lakh as his electricity bill.
