Richa Chadha penned a huge blog recently sharing her views on the Indian film industry. She touched upon the topic of royalty and shared how actors like Parveen Babi, AK Hangal, and Bhagwan Dada were left helpless in their final years. She shared that actors getting their due as royalty is an unrealistic dream, however, she hoped that it will change now. Agreeing with her, Gangs of Wasseypur director Anurag Kashyap shared that even he is supposed to get the royalty for his film which has now become cult.

Anurag Kashyap tweeted, "She is right. Most actors and crew got paid similar amounts or less and I had to forfeit my entire fees to make GOW. Funny thing is we still own 50%IPR on GOW and we have never seen a penny on it or know about it’s income. For the studio it’s still a flop." He further mentioned that the film was made under the budget of Rs 18 crore and despite fans watching it all over the world, the studio considers it to be a flop film. He also recalled the time when the studio called him up to make the third part of Gangs of Wasseypur.

In the end, the filmmaker said that this is how studios work in India. Check out his tweets below.
