The actress, currently occupied with Quantico, was approached by Ferrari Ki Sawaari's director Rajesh Mapuskar with the script of a Marathi drama.
Our PeeCee darlin' was bowled over by the script and agreed to produce it under her banner Purple Pebble Pictures. Of course, it came with a condition - she suggested a few changes in the script. Tweak it a bit and we're on.
The hitch was, Rajesh wasn't keen on making these changes.
"Rajesh thinks the script is fine the way it is while she wants to add and subtract elements, to make it more palatable. Post these creative differences, the project hasn't moved as yet," says a source close to Priyanka's company.
Since there isn't a legal binding, the director has been pitching the script to other producers as well. The source adds, "She will take a final call when she returns to India in a few weeks but right now, chances of the collaboration look bleak."
If the Mary Kom actress bows out of this venture, it'll be the second time that her production plan goes up in smoke. You see, earlier, she wanted to take the plunge with Madhur Bhandarkar's Madamji. However, the project was put on the backburner after the two reportedly had disagreements.
We sent a text to Priyanka and Rajesh but they didn't respond.
