On Sunday, Madhur had to cancel a promotional event in Nagpur because of protests by Congress workers.
A couple of days ago, another press conference in Pune had to be called off because of protests by party workers.
"Dear @OfficeOfRG, after Pune, I have to cancel today's press con at Nagpur. Do you approve [of] this hooliganism? Can I have my freedom of expression?" Bhandarkar tweeted.
Bhandarkar wrote that his team was left stranded "like hostages in the hotel room". He wrote, "Congress workers have barged in the hotel lobby and created ruckus. My team and I are stranded like hostages in hotel room (sic)."
Now it looks like the threat to Madhur Bhandarkar has increased. The latest update is that security has been provided to Bhandarkar by Mumbai Police since Sunday.
The protests against Indu Sarkar are not dissipating. Mumbai Mahila Congress President Sheetal Mhatre has sent a letter to Censor chief Pahlaj Nihalani saying that Indu Sarkar is “slandering” the Congress party.
Earlier,
a woman claiming to be Sanjay Gandhi's daughter had emerged to claim that the film showed her father in a bad light. She sent a notice to Madhur and his team regarding the film's release, and Madhur said that his legal team has given a fitting reply. “I also heard what she said. Earlier also I have got some legal letters from her. My lawyers have countered and replied. I am sure you will get it soon. We have acknowledged it. We have replied,” said Madhur.
