Aamir Khan and #MeToo accused Subhash Kapoor recently made the headlines as Aamir joined hands with the latter after first deciding to step out from the project. The actor faced a lot of criticism for his decision to step in and work with a #MeToo accused and felt that he had defeated the purpose of the movement. Not just Aamir Khan, Angad Bedi too worked in the web series The Verdict which has been helmed by Subhash Kapoor. Now, Angad, who will next be seen in The Zoya Factor starring Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salman has now spoken up on working with him.
Angad Bedi recently had an interview with Pinkvilla, where he was asked if the thought of working with Subhash Kapoor bothered him. He replied, “I don't even know the reality, right? Like, I go and work as a professional and come back home and that is where my job ends. Firstly, what anyone does in their personal life, I am no one to comment on that.” He further added that allegations can be leveled against anyone- including him. Talking about the #MeToo movement, he said, “It is a great movement. It was a great voice to hear but it should have an end result. I think #MeToo did not have that end result. My point is tomorrow you can malign anyone's image, what will that man do? Whether he is right or wrong, the damage is already done.”
Angad Bedi also sympathizes with Kapoor and says, “It is unfortunate what he went through. I sympathise with him, really. I know him on a level where I worked with him and it was all fine. Agreed, a man to man relationship is different but there were women on sets as well and it seemed all well. I think the wave needs to have more gravity. You prove it, and then the person is guilty otherwise it can happen to any celebrated person."
Angad Bedi also expressed his opinion that an FIR should be filed immediately instead of waiting for 7-8 years. He also mentioned that the issue cannot just be highlighted in the media and not have anything done about it.
