Just like Indian skipper Virat Kohli who took paternity leave for actor/ wife Anushka Sharma's delivery as they are expecting their first child, likewise, actor Saif Ali Khan has also taken some time off from his hectic schedule to spend quality time with actor/wife Kareena Kapoor Khan during her second pregnancy. Reportedly, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior director, Om Raut’s Adipurush, also starring Prabhas, was supposed to roll this month but Saif, who plays Raavan, will not be able to join the cast for the shoot as he is on a paternity break and is expected to resume shooting in the last week of March this year.
Confirming the news, filmmaker Om Raut told BT, “Saif sir and Prabhas have been prepping for the film extensively for the last three-four months. At this moment, my team is excited for the shoot to commence. They are preparing the final schedule. From where I see it, Saif sir is on paternity leave and will join the shoot sometime in March this year. It’s a deep, extensive story. We plan to shoot all the way up to August.”
Before Adipurush, Saif was shooting for Bhoot Police in Dharamshala with co-actors Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam in November. His trip was accompanied by wife Kareena and son Taimur Ali Khan.
Earlier, Saif Ali Khan found himself at the receiving end of criticism when he said that it would be interesting to play a demon king. He further added that they will make Raavan look humane and will justify the abduction of Goddess Sita.
