How come? The event, by invitation, is to mark the launch of her autobiographical book titled Anusual. The book by the heartthrob of the 1990s, is already accessible at selected bookstores of Mumbai.
The official launch at a Bandra bookstore will be presided over by her mentor Mahesh Bhatt. He has expressed a spontaneous interest in the candid confessions of Anu, whom he made into a star overnight with the musical love story, Aashiqui.
Besides Bhatt, the podium will be shared by Dr. Kartik Shah, who gave the actress a new lease of life following a near-fatal car accident near Chowpatty in Mumbai.
Anu quit the limelight at the peak of her film career. On returning to Mumbai from an ashram in the Himalayas -- where she mastered the discipline of yoga, became a karmayogi and subsequently a sanyasin for a while - Anu was involved in the car accident. Since her miraculous recovery, she has nixed film and theatre offers galore, opting to heal people with yoga.
When SpotboyE.com asked Anu if she would ever return to acting, she responded, "Never say never. But for right now, my energy is devoted to the book launch. I must have to ensure that everyone who has mattered to me in my life, is there - so I can express my gratitude."
The August 20 launch will be followed by an informal soiree with Anu's closest friends. Next month, Anusual will be launched in New Delhi.
