But we guess Aamir Khan didn't exactly have that in mind when he invited over 50 journalists today. The actor showed up like the Eid ka chaand and disappeared before one could even take his notepad out to jot down points.
Oh and how considerate was his team! They shifted the venue from the street outside his Carter Road residence to the building's parking lot - a space where journalists tripped over camera wires and jostled for space to stand.
Soon, Aamir arrived with wife Kiran Rao and son Azad in tow.
On the 'happy' occasion of Eid, Khan reminisced about how as a child, he would happily ask for Eidi from his elders and how little Azad is being trained to do the same. He also ensured he promoted his good friend Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan and spoke of how he's catching a late night screening today.
All fun and games, we get it. But how about some hard talk?
After all, this is the man who has the gumption to bring the country's social evils into our living room every Sunday morning and make us face the harsh reality.
So it was obvious we'd ask him about his stand on the controversial appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as FTII chairperson, expecting him to channel his Satyamev Jayate side.
Surprisingly, all we got was nonchalance.
"It's a happy occasion, let's not talk about it now," said the actor before we could even finish asking the question. And within the next two minutes, he was gone.
Clearly, he doesn't have a film up for release, so the blink-and-miss appearance isn't going to cause a commercial dent. Right, Aamir?
