He was heard saying in Hindi, “Mujhe filmo se hatna hai.” Shocked the Sonali Cable actress responded by stating that he was lying. When she quips that he should undergo a lie detection test, the 59-year-old actor says, “Karvalo.”
For those who don’t know, Aamir Khan took a break from starring in films after his film Laal Singh Chaddha, co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, a remake of Tom Hanks’ movie Forrest Gump (1994) disastrously tanked at the box-office. The film was heavily criticised by the critics and the audience.
In another interview, the Dangal actor’s son Junaid Khan, who made his Bollywood debut with Maharaj, had opened up about his father’s retirement plans. He told the Times Of India, “At that point, Kiran (Rao) was making Laapataa Ladies and Dad was going through this whole ‘I-am-retiring’ phase, and he even spoke about that (smiles). He told me, ‘I am retiring, why don’t you take over.’ So, that’s the phase when I stepped in. I think I have a decent understanding of production. It’s probably one of the toughest jobs in filmmaking.”
On the work front, Aamir Khan will be next seen in Sitaare Zameen Par. He is also producing a handful of other films.
