Bollywood celebrities are doing everything in their capacity to help those suffering due to the Coronavirus pandemic; from donating huge sums to raising funds, awareness and extending supporting towards the backbone of the film industry, that is, the daily wage earners. Only recently, Salman Khan had taken the financial responsibility of 25, 000 workers, followed by Amitabh Bachchan, along with a streak of other stars, featured in a short film to raise funds. Now, jumping onto the bandwagon is perfectionist Aamir Khan.
It turns out that the PK actor has secretly contributed an unspecified amount to that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PM-Cares Fund, Maharashtra CM’s relief fund and also extended financial support to that of all the daily wage workers of his upcoming film, Laal Singh Chaddha. Although the actor didn’t make any announcement about his donation, the news was disclosed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Now, that’s an applaud-worthy gesture from the perfectionist of Bollywood.
Taran’s tweet read, "#AamirKhan donates to... #PMCares #Maharashtra Chief Minister Relief Fund. Extended support to the daily wage workers of his forthcoming film #LaalSinghChaddha. #COVID19Pandemic #CoronaVirus #Covid_19 #COVID19.”
Take a look:
Coming to Salman Khan, the actor has already started with transferring money to the daily wage workers’ account, revealed General Secretary of FWICE, Ashok Dubey. “Salman Khan had asked for the details of 25,000 workers. We received details from 19,000 member workers. Out of which 3000 workers had already received 5000 rupees each from another film studio. So we have sent the details of remaining 16,000 workers to Salman Khan and he has started the money transfer. Soon everyone will receive the money,” said Ashok to TOI.
