After Baahubali 2, Dangal is the second highest earning Indian film ever. Before this Aamir Khan’s 2014 release PK had occupied the second slot.
You may recall that Aamir has broken his own records quite a few times in the past. His 3 Idiots (2009) broke the record set by Ghajini (2008). Later, the same record was broken by Dhoom:3 (2013), which was eventually broken by PK.
The record set by PK stood the test of time, until Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) surpassed the record to become the highest grossing Indian film.
