Bollywood actor and filmmaker Aamir Khan has created a huge impact on society with his philanthropic works. From founding the NGO Paani Foundation with his ex-wives Kiran Rao and Reena Dutt to hosting a powerful show like Satyamev Jayate, he has always openly spoken up about the improvements needed in society’s mindset. Recently, a political advertisement went viral, where he was seen endorsing a particular political party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Hours after his team issued a statement and dismissed the advertisement as fake, Khan has now filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the purported video.
In the now-viral video, which the netizens have shared extensively on social media, the Laaptaa Ladies producer is seen taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political party Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) for promoting a ‘15 lakh’ scheme. As per the video, the government promised Rs 15 lakh in every individual’s bank account. He is heard saying, “Jumle walon se saavdhaan rahe.” The Cyber Crime Cell has yet to take any action on the internet users who have made and shared the doctored video.
