With the outbreak of COVID-19 in March 2020, many filmmakers chose to release the movies on the OTT platforms as theatres remained shut. Perfectionist Aamir Khan who is back in town, during an event, raised his concern over movies opting to go for streaming platforms, hoping things improve in the future. Some time back amidst pandemic, when the theatres in town were allowed to function, he was amongst the first few actors who visited the theatres. Back then he had urged people to watch movies in theatres, claiming it to be safe.
During the event he said, “Some films are releasing on OTT platforms, and as a film person I am very concerned. I hope in near future things will improve.” Urging people to get vaccinated, he mentioned re-opening of theatres is not an easy task. According to him, it can only re-open after the situation gets improved. Affirming that the actor is working on it. “It is not easy to talk about reopening of cinema halls. Theatres can be opened up only when the health situation improves, and we control the Covid-19 situation as a society, we are all trying and working on it,” added the actor.
