The first edition of the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup, created an annual water storage capacity of 1,368 crore litres in three talukas of Maharashtra in early 2016. Now Paani Foundation has launched the second edition in thirty talukas of the state.
And once again Aamir Khan is working hard for a good cause and this time wife Kiran Rao is lending him a helping hand.
The Dangal star released a music video for the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup Campaign and introduced a new voice, none other than his wife who has sung this Marathi song.
The video is directed by Sairat helmer Nagraj Manjule.
“I was made to sing the song on my husband’s diktat. I had fun working with Ajay-Atul and Nagraj. I was nervous in the studio but Ajay and Atul encouraged me to sing,” Kiran told a section of media.
She added: “It was my dream to work with Nagraj. In an interview too I was asked is there any director I want to work with and I said Nagraj. My dream came true so I have to thank my husband.”
To which, Aamir said: “I always felt Kiran sings really well. She sits in the balcony in the evening and sings for me so I thought everyone should listen to her voice.”
The song, penned by Guru Thakur, features residents of the thirty talukas, Aamir and actors from the Marathi film industry working towards water conservation.
