In a tell-all interview with India Today, Rhea Chakraborty opened up for the first time and shared her side of the story post-Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The Jalebi actress spoke about everything, from their trip to Europe to her visit to the mortuary to pay her last respects to late Sushant Singh Rajput. She also opened up on how she got to know about Sushant Singh Rajput's death. They were in a live-in relationship, and it was on June 8 that Rhea reportedly left Sushant's home. In the interview, Rhea shared that she broke down post getting to know about his death.
Rhea was quoted saying that it was her friend who called her up thinking that the reports of Sushant Singh Rajput's death were just rumours. Rhea stated, "On 14th, at around 2 PM I was with my brother in my room. I got a call from my friend that Sushant was no more. She thought that it was a rumour and asked for SSR Statement. My friend did not know that I was in my house. I was like how can there be a rumour like that, and within 10-15 mins there came confirmation." Further, she said that she broke down after she got to know and did not attend his funeral.
She also agreed that when she saw Sushant's mortal remains, she said, "I am sorry babu." Rhea told India Today, "Yes, what else is someone supposed to say to someone who has lost their life? I am sorry you have lost your life. I am sorry that your death has been made a joke. I am sorry your last memory is not going to be your good work, your intelligence, your charity. I am sorry that everyone has made a joke of your life and I am sorry you have lost your life."
