Yet another controversy surrounding Padmaavat has erupted. Yesterday, about 200 women from Rajput Karni Sena and Jauhar Smriti Sansthan marched in Chittorgarh with swords claiming to end their lives if Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmaavat, releases. The Swabhimaan rally commenced from Jauhar Sthal in Chittorgarh fort, the same place where Rani Padmini and 16,000 other Rajput women are said to have committed Jauhar.
The women marched under the banners of Jauhar Kshatrani Manch, they even wrote memorandums to the Governor of Rajasthan, Chief Minister, President and Prime Minister. Suresh Kumar Khatik, Sub-Divisional Officer of Chittorgarh said, “They gave us the memoranda seeking a countrywide ban on the film.”
As per reports, the Rajasthan Government would review petition today in the Supreme Court against the top court’s order that stayed the decision of some states to ban the film’s screening.
Yesterday, SpotboyE.com brought to you a video where a group of anti-social elements were seen vandalising the main multiplex in Ahmedabad-Rajhans. The group brutally pelted stones at the theatre.
SpotboyE.com was the first one to tell you about Akshay Kumar shifting the release date of his film Pad Man leaving Padmaavat for a solo release. Sanjay Leela Bhansali met the makers of Pad Man and requested them to shift their release date. Sources from Viacom 18 told SpotboyE.com that Akshay Kumar graciously pulled off Pad Man leaving Deepika-Ranveer-Shahid to enjoy a free run.
As things stand today, the film has no distributors in Rajasthan. Even the multiplex owners in Gujarat have decided not to screen the film.
Coming back to the story, we hope the protests settle down soon and the film gets its due!
