Bollywood’s desi girl Priyanka Chopra Jonas, lately, has been ruling headlines for making some shocking revelations about working culture in Hindi cinema. In March, she revealed she was tired of politics in Bollywood and said she was pushed into a corner that she had to leave the industry. Now, in a new interview, Priyanka has made another explosive revelation as she talked about how she was once mistreated by a director. The actress recalled that the director wanted to see her “underwear" while shooting a striping scene in a film.
According to Zoe Report, the Bajirao Mastani star revealed she walked out of a film where she was supposed to play an undercover after she felt humiliated. Priyanka stated, “This may have been 2002 or ’03… I’m undercover, I’m seducing the guy - obviously that’s what girls do when they’re undercover. But I’m seducing the guy and you have to take off one piece of clothing (at a time). I wanted to layer up. The filmmaker was like, No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise why is anybody coming to watch this movie?” She added, “He didn’t say it to me. He said it to the stylist in front of me. It was such a dehumanizing moment. It was a feeling of, I’m nothing else outside of how I can be used, my art is not important, what I contribute is not important.. “I just couldn’t look at him every day.”
The 40-year-old actor opted out of this project. Earlier during her appearance on Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert, Chopra had spoken about the circumstances that made her seek work in Hollywood. The Baywatch actress mentioned she was tired of politics in the industry and faced problems when filmmakers stopped casting her.
