Bollywood and Marathi actor, filmmaker, Shreyas Talpade left his family and friends worried when he suffered a heart attack in December 2023. He underwent an angioplasty and is currently recuperating at home. He has now opened up about his experience during an interaction with Bombay Times. Revealing how he has never been hospitalised in his life, the medical emergency made him realise that his health is more important than anything else.
Calling this experience as a wake-up he went on to reveal that he was clinically dead as his heart had stopped beating for 10 minutes. He said, “Clinically, I was dead. It was a massive cardiac arrest. The doctors tried CPR, electrical shock, that’s how they revived me. A wake-up call would be an understatement. This is my second chance at life. Jaan hai toh Jahaan hai. For the past 28 years, I have just been focussing on my career. We take ourselves and our families for granted. We think we have time.”
On the work front, Shreyas Talpade will return to the big screens as former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Kangana Ranaut’s film Emergency. A period political drama, the movie is based on the emergency period in India during the mid-70s, which was announced by the then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. He will also be seen in the multi-starrer Welcome To The Jungle.
