Narendra Modi is the most adored and influential person in India. On being elected Prime Minister, he has won two consecutive terms with a full majority and is a people’s favourite. Born on September 17, 1950, and brought up in Vadnagar, Bombay state present-day Gujarat, PM Narendra Modi is the 14th Prime Minister of independent India. PM Narendra Modi was born to the family of grocers in Vadnagar, Mehsana district in Gujarat and is the third of the six children to parents Damodardas Mulchand Modi and Hiraben Modi. As a young boy, the PM helped his father at a tea stall at Vadnagar Railway station and later ran a tea stall with his brother near a bus terminus. Being considered an average student by teachers, the Prime Minister had an early gift for rhetoric debates and had a keen interest in theatre. The PM has travelled around India for a brief period of 2 years and visited many religious centers before returning to his home state. He then further worked for RSS in 1971 and became a full-time worker there. After turning Chief Minister for the state of Gujarat in 2001, the Prime Minister was elected to the legislative assembly soon after. The Prime Minister finally led Bhartiya Janta Party in the 2014 general election and gave the party a majority in the Lok Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented many changes since he has been elected as the Prime Minister. He has started the Swachh Bharat campaign and initiated demonetization of high denomination notes bringing about a change in the exchange of black money.
