Abhishek Bachchan made his debut with J. P. Dutta’s Refugee with Kareena Kapoor. The film also stared Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty and Anupam Kher in main roles. In Refugee, Abhishek played the role of a Bihar-based Manzur Ahmad, who gets migrated to East Pakistan after the partitioning of India in 1947 with his family. While the film worked moderately well at the box-office, it was reportedly the 5th highest-grossing film of that year. We knew from Day 1 that Amitabh Bachchan's son had fine acting skills.
Yuva (2004)
Mani Ratnam’s political thriller Yuva was originally titled as Howrah Bridge. The film stared Abhishek Bachchan along with Ajay Devgn, Vivek Oberoi, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, and Esha Deol among others. In Yuva, Abhishek played the role of a goon, who hails from Bihar but settles in Kolkata.
Bunty Aur Babli (2005)
In Bunty Aur Babli, Abhishek Bachchan was seen playing a con man, who later gets arrested by a police officer played by Amitabh Bachchan. The film also starred Rani Mukerji. Bunty Aur Babli’s item song Kajra Re still makes us groove, whenever it’s played.
Guru (2007)
After Yuva, Abhishek Bachchan worked with Mani Ratnam once again where he was paired opposite Aishwarya Rai. The two tied the knot in the same year. The film was a remake of Ratnam’s Tamil film, Aaytha Ezhuthu.
Manmarziyaan (2018)
Manmarziyaan co-starring Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal saw Abhishek Bachchan playing a gentleman Robbie who falls in love with Taapsee and later Taapsee realises that she too loves him.
