After sharing the poster of his upcoming film, The Ghazi Attack, yesterday, Karan Johar took to Twitter a while ago to release the trailer of the project. Along with the link to the trailer, he wrote, “Here it is....the underwater WAR you did NOT know about.... #TheGhaziAttack ....@dharmamovies #AAFilms (sic).”

The film boasts an amazing cast of Late Om Puri, Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu and Kay Kay Menon among others and is termed as “India’s first war-at-sea film”. This is the first time the viewers will get to see Late Om Puri on-screen since his sudden death a few days ago.

To talk of the trailer, Amitabh Bachchan’s voice over leads the audience into the rousing tale of India-Pakistan war and brings to the fore its heroes we never knew. The 2-minute 27 second-clip replete with an impactful background score is pacy and packs a punch with all characters shining bright.

The film is based on the true events of a mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi during the Indo-Pak 1971 war. It is about an executive naval officer and his team who remained underwater for 18 days. While Rana plays the lead role of Lt.Commander Arjun Varma of Indian Navy, Taapsee will portray a refugee.

The Ghazi Attack is directed by debutant Sankalp Reddy and is said to be partially based on his own book, Blue Fish. The film will hit theatres on February 17 this year.
