Last night, a group of masked men and women, allegedly associated with ABVP unleashed terror on students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) with sticks, rods and acid. As per several reports, the masked goons went about storming the campus, breaking glasses, rampaging through hostels and attacking students and teachers, vandalizing the place.
Anil Kapoor began by saying, “This has to be condemned. It was quite sad and shocking. It was very disturbing. Main poori raat soya nahi yeh sochke ki what’s happening. So, it has to be condemned. Violence se kuch honewala toh hai nahi. Whoever has done this, needs to be punished.”
Aditya Roy Kapur added, “There’s no place for this kind of violence in our country and the perpetrators have to be brought to task.”
Last night,
Swara Bhasker taking to her Instagram handle had shared a video making an appeal as she wrote, “URGENT SOS appeal. Urgent appeal!!!! To all Delhiites PLS gather in large numbers outside the Main Gate of JNU campus on Baba Gangnath Marg.. to pressure the govt. & #DelhiPolice to stop the rampage by alleged ABVP masked goons on JNU campus.
