Ayushmann Khurrana, who stole the show last year with his two blockbuster films AndhaDhun and Badhai Ho is back with yet another exciting film titled Article 15 that talks about discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. The trailer is out now and its powerful and gut-wrenching.
The trailer opens with a horrific shot of two young girls who were hung from the tree, Ayushmann plays a cop who investigates this case. As we move forward, we slowly find out about the narrative of the film that deals with how lower caste people are treated by upper class people in some of the rural areas in India.
We explore this whole angle through Ayushmann’s perspective and find out how heinous crimes such as hounour killing, dowry, murder are common in rural India. It seems like director Anubhav Sinha has yet another powerful narrative with a gripping story-line. His previous film was Mulk and it was one the most critically acclaimed film of 2018.
Through this trailer we explore how millions of Indians suffer because of caste-based discrimination at every level on daily basis. With the shock value and the mere idea of being subjected to discrimination, the trailer manages to sensitize the viewers to the plight of those who suffer because of discrimination every day!
The film also stars Isha Talwar, M Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in pivotal roles and is slated to release on 28th June 2019.
