This weekend was a disaster in terms of the box-office numbers. Three films released at cinemas and none scored well. Prassthanam, The Zoya Factor and Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas belonged to different genres but all three opened on a poor note and continued to show a linear pace without much rise in BO figures. While Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan starrer The Zoya Factor and Sanjay Dutt’s multi-starrer political drama Prassthanam opened with BO figure of Rs 85 lakh, Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol’s debut film Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas surpassed their BO numbers with Rs 1.10 crore.
On Saturday as per a report in Box office India Karan Deol’s flick did an estimated business of Rs 1.5 crore. Moving on to Sonam and Dulquer’s Zoya Factor registered Rs 85 Lakh and lastly Prassthanam's Day 2 collections stood at Rs 1 Crore. Giving tough competition to these three flicks were previous releases such as Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl and Nitesh Tiwari’s directed Chhhichhore.
While Dream girl is inching towards Rs. 100 crore with BO figure of Rs 86.60 crore as reported by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Chhichhore crossed 100 crore mark on September 18, 2019 with collection of Rs 102.19 crore.
