The Sky Is Pink, which stars Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf in the lead roles hit the theatres on October 11 and the film had a poor opening day at the box-office. The film collected Rs 2.50 crore on the first day. The Sky Is Pink had received good reviews from the critics, but even so, it had a slow take off. Now, the second day collections are better than the opening day and the film saw a steady rise in its collection.
According to a report in Boxofficeindia.com, The Sky Is Pink saw a growth of 60% on its day 2 and collected Rs 4 crore. Adding this figure to its first-day collection of 2.50 crore, brings the net total collections of The Sky Is Pink to approximately 6.50 crore. The film, directed by Shonali Bose, revolves around a couple and their struggles as they deal with their daughter’s (Zaira Wasim) illness. Zaira Wasim’s character is inspired by late Aisha Chaudhary, who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.
