Naam Shabana has gone from strength to strength over the weekend after a rather slow start on Friday.

After registering an ordinary figure of Rs 5.12 crore on Day 1, Naam Shabana showcased an improved performance on Saturday and Sunday. The total collection of the film over its opening weekend stands at Rs 18.76 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the film’s box-office business till now and wrote, “#NaamShabana is decent. Sat growth:  24.41 %, Sun growth: 14.13.  Fri 5.12, Sat 6.13, Sun 7.27, Total Rs 18.76 cr. India biz (sic).”

While the film’s opening day collection was average, it received a higher opening than last week's Anushka Sharma-starrer Phillauri (Rs 4.02 cr).

With this, we have seen three back-to-back heroine-oriented films at the box-office, Anushka Sharma’s Phillauri, Swara Bhaskar’s Anaarkali Of Aarah and Taapsee Pannu’s Naam Shabana.

According to the trade pundits, Taapsee Pannu's Naam Shabana is getting extra footfall because of Akshay Kumar's superb cameo.

Shabana, is a tough spy with a take-no-prisoners attitude and the film follows her on an important mission and it is quite the ride. The film revolves around Shabana, who joins the Indian secret service, to extract revenge on her boyfriend’s killers. Taapsee is seen in a de-glam avatar in the film, stripped of make-up and glamorous clothes. The film is directed by Shivam Nair and also stars Anupam Kher, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Danny Denzongpa and Manoj Bajpayee.
