Taapsee Pannu and
Bhumi Pednekar starrer
Saand Ki Aankh may have hit the bull’s eye for the critics but it has certainly missed the aim at the box-office. A large number of critics were going gaga over the film but it appears, didn’t set the cash registers ringing as it should have, considering it is Diwali season. Saand Ki Aankh which was released on October 25 locked horns with Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Ritesh Deshmukh, Pooja Hedge, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Chunky Panday starrer
Housefull 4 and Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy’s
Made In China.
According to the early trends, the movie has collected in the range of Rs. 50-75 lacs on day 1. Looks like Saand Ki Aankh has faced other releases storm and the pre-Diwali effect that brought in poor numbers for the film on its opening day. However, the film now needs a big bump over the weekend and great hold on the weekdays in order to fare well at the box office report card. Meanwhile, Housefull 4 puts up a healthy number on day 1 by minting in Rs. 18.85 crores at the box-office while Made In China raked in a crore at the domestic markets.
Apart from Taapsee and Bhumi, the film also has a talented ensemble star cast including Prakash Jha, Vineet Singh Kumar among others are also seen in the pivotal roles.
