Saaho is on a roll! The film, that opened to a whopping 24.4 crore on Friday, became the third-highest opening film of the year after Salman Khan starrer Bharat and Akshay Kumar’s multistarrer film Mission Mangal. The film showed a drastic decline in numbers on Monday and collected about Rs 14 crore on Day 4, which is half of their collection of Rs. 29.48 crore on Sunday. The reason for the decline could possibly be because people were busy celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. Saaho (Hindi) is steadily inching closer to the 100 cr mark and has managed to collect approximately 93 crore net so far in four days.
According to a report in Boxofficeindia.com, Saaho (Hindi) managed to collect about 14 Crore on Monday. While it showed a drop of 45%, the Hindi collections on Monday was still higher than Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal, which collected Rs 8.5 crore on Monday. While Saaho (Hindi)
opened to 24.4 cr on its first day, it saw little growth over the weekend and collected Rs 25.20 crore and Rs 29.48 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Now, Monday collections of 14 crore bring the total to a whopping 93 crore nett in four days! However, the Monday collections are second best of the year after Kabir Singh, which collected Rs 17 crore on Monday.
While the film is going strong at the box office, it did not receive positive reviews from critics. SpotboyE editor Vickey Lalwani
rated Saaho two and a half stars and mentioned that it falls way short of the buzz, expectations, and expenditure. He wrote, “Saaho unmistakably tries to be the Shah Rukh Khan's Don at some places but I will feel anguished if you even ask me whether it comes anywhere near it. As soon as the curtains go up on the show, you see some characters who cannot register. Badly begun, half undone. Will the exorbitant budget of 350 cr be justified at least ahead, I wonder.”
