Rani Mukerji-starrer Hichki (produced by Yash Raj and directed by Siddharth P Malhotra) collected Rs 3.25 crore on Day 1. Now, the Day 2 collections of the film are here and the project has registered a spectacular growth of 62.12 % on Day 2.
Hichki pocketed Rs 5.35 crore on its second day. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the film’s business.
He wrote, “#Hichki shows a REMARKABLE 62.12% GROWTH on Day 2... Sun biz to scale HIGHER than Sat... Fri 3.30 cr, Sat 5.35 cr. Total: ₹ 8.65 cr [961 screens]. India biz (sic).”
It’s only fair that the earnings have registered a such a growth for the film got rave reviews on its first day.
The film is inspired from a certain part of Brad Cohen's life. A couple of days ago, we brought you Brad Cohen talking about Rani, Aditya Chopra, Hichki and Tourette Syndrome.
For those who've come in late, Rani had told us in an interview that she is very happy at the response that the trailer has generated and the growing collections are proof that the audience are loving the film.
“The teacher (actually she can be a teacher to few newbies of today who know nothing about acting but are strutting about everywhere) is in top form and you cannot point out one scene where she fails you as a performer. What stands out in the script is that at no point it tries to make you empathise with Rani or her Tourette Syndrome--- which is the real victory of Malhotra as it is very easy in such kind of an underdog tale that you force sympathy down the throats of your audience to be with your protagonist--- in an attempt to get sell a few more tickets.”
Let’s see how much does Day 3 bring in for Hichki. Stay tuned to SpotboyE.com for weekend collections.
