Rajinikanth’s Kabali was one of the most anticipated films of the year. And the superstar has worked his magic at the box-office again. The film, which also stars Radhika Apte and Dhansika, has made a thunderous start on Day 1.
Directed by Pa.Ranjith, the movie was released in over 4500 screens worldwide in 3 languages – Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Reportedly. Kabaali has amassed Rs 40 crore in domestic circuit on Day 1.
In sharp contrast, Irrfan Khan-starrer Madaari, which is presented by Bharat Shah and produced by Shailesh Singh, Madan Paliwal, Sutapa Sikdar and Shailja Kejriwal, could not make much impact at the ticket windows. The Nishikanth Kamat-directed film, which is again a vigilante drama on the lines of Naseeruddin Shah-starrer A Wednesday, may have brilliant performances to boot. But the film failed to set the cash registers ringing.
