Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Pink, which has been well-received by the critics and the audience, recorded a collection of Rs 20.36 crore during the
weekend. Surprisingly, Raaz Reboot, directed by Vikram Bhatt, also collected Rs 14.89 crore. The horror flick had been panned by critics for its
unoriginal storyline. On Day 1, even the audience’s response was thanda (First Day First Show Reactions: Raaz Reboot Disappoints, Sep 16).
Considering everything, we suppose, Raaz Reboot’s box-office collection -- just Rs 5.47 crore less than Pink -- is not THAT bad.
Pink, produced by Shoojit Sircar, stars Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Angad Bedi, Andrea Tariang, Piyush Mishra, and Dhritiman Chatterjee. The film revolves around three girls (Taapsee, Kirti and Andrea) and an advocate suffering from bipolar disorder (played by Big B), who join them in their fight for justice.
Raaz Reboot stars Emraan Hashmi and debutants Gaurav Arora and Kriti Kharbanda (she has acted in South movies, though this is her first outing in Bollywood). The story revolves around a newly-wed couple (Kriti and Gaurav) and an evil spirit (Emraan) hungry for revenge.
