This Friday brought nothing but doom for thr three films that released on the same day- Sanya Malhotra-Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Photograph, Ali Fazal-Shraddha Srinath starrer Milan Talkies and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mere Pyare Prime Minister. Neither of them has done well at the ticket windows. A report in Box-Office India says that Photograph helmed by Ritesh Batra has earned only Rs 25 lakh while Milan Talkies and Mere Pyare Prime Minister collected Rs15 lakh and Rs 8 lakh respectively

SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated Photograph only  2 stars and wrote, “Need chai, pronto. Else I can't write this. Oh, here comes my trusted house-help and puts a hot cup of tea on my table where I have settled down after a lot of deliberation. He is a movie buff and wants to know the story of Photograph. Now, now, now...what do I tell him, when there is absolutely none? But he's quite an adamant fellow, been with me since I was in Std 6 and hence I can't dodge him. I start off by telling him that Nawaz plays a photographer at The Gateway Of India. He cuts me to ask, "Nawaz saan itni saari movies kyun karte hain?" I have no answer until I meet Nawaz again. So I request him to let me continue, you see I want to finish off the narrative fast. So Mr Housekeeper, Nawaz has a grandmother who wants to see her middle-aged grandson get hitched so that he can produce babies for her to play. Nawaz feigns a relationship with Sanya. Granny starts giving gyan to them and Sanya keeps staring in space and thinking deeply all the time. Mr Movie Buff butts in to ask what she's thinking and I find myself giving him Ritesh Batra's number to pose that query.”

While rating Milan Talkies also 2, he said, “No head or tail, Tigmanshu Dhulia decided to deviate from his usual style of filmmaking and make a love story. Result- A Tacky Product. Ali Fazal is passable, newbie Shraddha Srinath resembles Sonakshi Sinha in many frames, Ashutosh Rana on a comeback trail is wasted, Sikander Kher doesn't get much to do except beat his wife, Sanjay Mishra is cast nowadays and here again as if his presence guarantees success. Summed it up all, what else you want to know? Clearly, Dhulia felt that small-town films are painting cities red, so let me jump onto the bandwagon- but unfortunately does not land well. The writing has lines like- Sasti sharab and sasta sex dono kharab hote hain! And how can I forget Rana telling Sikander when he's about to thrash his daughter- Hak hai tumhara! Advocation of wife-beating!! Mr Prasoon Joshi, did you bother to see the film before giving it a censor certificate or you just put your signature on Tushar Karmarkar and his team's viewing?”

Mere Pyare Prime Minister has nothing to rave about either.
