Anushka Sharma In Pari

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote, “#Pari witnessed an UPWARD TREND on Day 2... Sun biz is crucial... Fri 4.36 cr, Sat 5.47 cr. Total: ₹ 9.83 cr. India biz (sic).”

The only deterrent to Pari was Holi, therefore, Day 1 collections were lower than expected. However, the film has gained considerable ground on Saturday and things look rosy for the venture co-produced by KriArj Entertainment and Clean Slate Films.

SpotboyE.com had done a story on Day 1 itself indicating the expected progress of Pari and we were bang on.

Distributors had spoken to us at length about the film’s prospects.

Anushka Sharma In Pari Movie

"Pari is doing superb in West Bengal. Literally, I had a feeling before the release that it will do well in West Bengal as the maximum shooting was done here. We had opened wide releasing in 118 theatres across Bengal which is a good number for a movie like this. Today it has opened with 100 percent occupancy in some the singles screens (Priya, Menoka, Star) as well as multiplexes (Inox, Pvr, Cinepolis, Carnival). I am really hopeful that the numbers will be great and in the box office it will be one of Biggest hit of 2018," West Bengal distributor, Satadeep Saha of SSR Cinemas Pvt Ltd had said.

Sanjay Chatar, leading distributor for Central India, had also spoken to us. He had said, "Major cinema halls in MP and Chattisgarh areas don't play movies on the Holi day in the morning; if they begin operations they start off only at 6 pm. Rajasthan began only after 4 pm. So the film's business in these crucial territories will only emerge over the weekend."

Sunday (today) promises to be still better. SpotboyE.com editor, Vickey Lalwani had given 4 stars to the film and had said, “Anushka Sharma pulls out all stops and gives perhaps her best performance till date. As Rukhsana, she has a very difficult role which can only bring a lot of questions in your mind: Why are a group of cruel men hunting her down? Why does she frequently put her face in a bucket of water? How can she disappear when she is just right in the room where Parambrata Chatterjee's girlfriend Ritabhari Chakraborty is about to kiss him? Too many questions will haunt you in the first half, but Prosit Roy (director) answers them all in the second with conviction and style.”
