Vandalism be damned as there is no stopping Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. After collecting Rs 19 crore on Day 1 and Rs 32 crore on Day 2, the magnum opus has pocketed Rs 27 crore on Day 3.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures and wrote, “#Padmaavat continues to SPARKLE... Biz on Sat [after a big holiday on Fri] was EXCEPTIONAL... Will comfortably cross ₹ 100 cr mark today [Sun]… Wed [limited preview shows] 5 cr, Thu 19 cr, Fri 32 cr, Sat 27 cr. Total: ₹ 83 cr. India biz (sic).”

The total collections of Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh’s starrer Padmaavat stand at Rs 83 crore (till now).

In spite of threats to vandalise theatres by Karni Sena, junta has shown immense support towards the film by turning up in huge numbers.

A few hours ago, trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted figures from key international markets and termed the collections “rocking”.

Padmaavat, which also has Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari in key roles, has been in the news ever since it went on floors. The Karni Sena has been the prime group who have been vehemently opposing it. Few state governments (Rajasthan, MP, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana) jumped in to throw spanners, but the intervention of the Supreme Court seeked by Bhansali and Viacom 18 (co-producer) enabled it to finally see the light of day.

Coming back to the Day 3 collections of the film, we bet Team Padmaavat can’t stop grinning from ear to ear.
