After having a great start yesterday at the box-office with an opening figure of Rs 19 crore, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama has shown a phenomenal growth on its second day.
As per the figures given by Box Office India, the film has
collected Rs 32 crore approximately on Day 2.

It’s a fantastic figure to register on the second day of the
film’s release as it’s been hounded by numerous controversies for a long time.
In spite of threats to vandalise theatres by Karni Sena, the janta
has shown immense support towards the film by turning up in huge
numbers.
A while ago, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh also posted the overseas figures of the film and said that it’s marked a record-breaking figure in the international market.

The Shahid Kapoor-Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh starrer has been in the news ever since it went on floors. The Karni Sena has been the prime group who have been vehemently opposing it.
Few state governments (Rajasthan, MP, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh,
Uttarakhand, Haryana) jumped in to throw spanners, but the
intervention of the Supreme Court seeked by Bhansali and
Viacom 18 (co-producer) enabled it to finally see the light of day.

Although the film opened on a slow note yesterday yet
picked up towards the evening. The Rs 19 crore figure would have
been considerably more if no fear psychosis had engulfed the people in
the earlier part of the day.
Coming back to Padmaavat’s Day 2 collections, well, it is surely
a big ray of hope for Team Padmaavat to recover the huge cost but let’s see how
the collections unfold over weekend. It’s still a mammoth task but fingers
crossed!
