Mission Mangal and Batla House released this Independence Day and both the films have been well received by the audience. While Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal has taken a leap ahead, John Abraham’s Batla House continues to make its numbers despite the issues regarding the delay in release. Despite the box-office clash between the two films, they continue doing well and minting the required money. In their second week, Mission Mangal has collected a total of RS. 149.31 cr, while Batla House is at Rs. 76.57 cr
According to Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, Mission Mangal continues its dream run as numbers swing upwards, while Batla House sprints in the second week; the Janmashtami festivities have proved beneficial. Taran Adarsh’s post on Instagram regarding Mission Mangal's collection reads, “#MissionMangal continues its dream run... Numbers zoom upwards on [second] Sat, with #Janmashtamifestivities giving its biz that extra push... Will emerge fourth highest grossing film of 2019 today [Sun]... [Week 2] Fri 7.83 cr, Sat 13.32 cr. Total: ₹ 149.31 cr. India biz.”
While Batla House's collection read, “#BatlaHouse sprints on [second] Sat... An open week has certainly proved beneficial, while #Janmashtami festivities is aiding its biz in Weekend 2... [Week 2] Fri 4.15 cr, Sat 6.58 cr. Total: ₹ 76.57 cr. India biz.”
Both films are doing well at their own pace, but Mission Mangal has secured its position in the Top 10 grossing list of 2019. Kabir Singh being on the first position, Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal sits on the fourth position after Salman Khan's Bharat. It is inching closer to number 3 spot.
