Saif Ali Khan starrer Laal Kaptaan received a lot of attention from the audience since the release of its trailer. To pique the interest of the fans, the makers of the film released the trailers of Laal Kaptaan in parts creating mystery about the revenge story. Saif Ali Khan’s look as Naga Sadhu from the film was well appreciated by the audience too. As the film minted only approximately Rs 50 Lakh at the Box-office on Day 1, even the second day numbers haven’t been up to the mark with Rs 1.3 crore.
Directed by Navdeep Singh, Laal Kaptaan revolves around the character played by Saif Ali Khan as the dreadful Naga Sadhu, a bounty hunter who seeks revenge. According to a report in Box-Office India, the Saif Ali Khan failed to impress the audience miserably. Laal Kaptaan minted only Rs 50 Lakh on the first day and has failed to create buzz. The film has collected even lesser than the Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salman starrer The Zoya Factor which minted Rs 70 Lakh on Day 1 of the Box-Office. According to a report in IndiaTV, Laal Kaptaan has failed to be a crowd pleaser even after Day 2 being a weekend and a holiday. The film collects only Rs 1.3 Crore at the Box-Office on Day 2. SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the film two stars and questioned why the movie was made. He wrote, “The film just does not move, despite the fact that the Nawab of Pataudi is on a (fit) horse almost for one-third of the run time.”
Laal Kaptaan stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Zoya Hussain in pivotal roles. The film is co-produced by Aanand L Rai under the banner of Colour Yellow Productions and Eros International. Laal Kaptaan hit theatres on October 18, 2019.
