Strong word- of- mouth has helped the film register an upward curve.
Trade Analyst, Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the weekend, figures. “#JaggaJasoos had ₹ 33 cr+ opening weekend, witnessing growth on Sat and Sun... Plexes of metros contributed largely to the biz. (sic),” he tweeted.
"Weekdays are crucial for #JaggaJasoos... High costs + mix word of mouth are deterrents... Has to score on weekdays + Weekend 2 to sustain. (sic),” he further added.
“#JaggaJasoos Fri 8.57 cr, Sat 11.53 cr, Sun 13.07 cr. Total: ₹ 33.17 cr. India biz (sic),” read another tweet.
Jagga Jasoos is receiving great response but the producers still have a long way to recover its production costs. The film was shot on a large scale and was made on the budget of Rs 110 crore.
Recently at an event, Ranbir Kapoor promised a compensation for the distributors if Jagga Jasoos failed. "Personally, if my film fails and I am making money out of it, then I will pay back the distributors. It has been going on since my grandfather's (Raj Kapoor) time in 1950s. The style of making films where everyone makes money, not just the producers but also distributors and exhibitors. It is a healthy exercise. If someone loses money on something and you have made money out of it, it's good to compensate. Like when Mera Naam Joker released, distributors incurred losses. So when Bobby released, my grandfather gave a bigger share to the distributors than the exhibitors,” said Ranbir.
