The first day collection of the Taapsee Pannu- starrer, Naam Shabana is not very high. The film has managed to register an average figure of Rs 5.12 cr at the box-office.

Naam Shabana did not receive really great reviews from critics as well.

However, talking about the moolahs, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures a while ago. He writes, “#NaamShabana gets a boost due to Akshay's star power... Evening shows fare better... Fri ₹ 5.12 cr. India biz.”

Interestingly, the film has received a higher opening than last week's Anushka Sharma-starrer Phillauri (Rs 4.02 cr).

According to the trade pundits, Taapsee Pannu's Naam Shabana is getting an extra footfall because of Akshay Kumar's superb cameo and Baby's fantastic box-office collection record.

Baby had registered an approx figure of 9 crore on its Day 1. However, the film featured Akshay Kumar in lead, while it’s prequel, Naam Shabana, has him only in a cameo.

Shabana, is a tough spy with a take-no-prisoners attitude and the film follows her on an important mission and it is quite the ride.
The film revolves around Shabana, who joins the Indian secret service, to extract revenge on her boyfriend’s killers. Taapsee is seen in a de-glam avatar in the film, stripped of make-up and glamorous clothes. Film is directed by Shivam Nair and also stars Anupam Kher, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Danny Denzongpa and Manoj Bajpayee.

Coming back to the film’s box-office collection, as mentioned by Taran Adarsh, the evening shows are faring better. Let’s see if the film picks up through the weekend.
