Ali Abbas Zafar’s Eid release Bharat is doing very well at the box-office. After a huge opening of 42.30 crore on Eid, followed by Thu 31 crore and Fri 22.20 crore, the movie showed an upward trend on Saturday which had to happen considering it’s a holiday for most of them. The Saturday numbers are 26.70 crore. The single screens are performing very well and the multiplexes too have joined the party.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted the figures, “#Bharat rocks the BO... Biz jumps on Day 4... Multiplexes join the party, single screens rock-steady... Will continue its winning streak today [Sun]... Being patronised by family audience... Wed 42.30 cr, Thu 31 cr, Fri 22.20 cr, Sat 26.70 cr. Total: ₹ 122.20 cr. India biz.”

The movie has comfortably entered the coveted 100 crore club making this the third hit in a row for Salman-Kat-Ali Abbas Zafar. Their earlier two films Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai also turned out to be super successful and Bharat is treading on the same path. Even the critical appreciation has been fair and the makers are grinning wide.

SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the film 3 stars and wrote, “There are moments of swagger, romance, anger and dance- and full marks to Mr Khan for that. I quite liked him. His swag, in particular in this one, is worth whistles. Loved the bike ride in 'maut ka kua' when he is 20. Loved his look and hoarse voice when he turns 70. Loved the zeal he depicts in solving the problems of everyone around him. Loved his shyness when Katrina Kaif gets often bold with him. Flashes of Amitabh Bachchan's role in Hum (but not aided by as good a background score as Mukul Anand's entertainer).”

Now, considering that Sunday is going to see India battle it out against Australia for the World Cup, we expect some amount of downfall, but we can’t really guess at this point.
