Tiger Shroff has emerged as the best action hero among his gen of actors and rightly so. His film Baaghi 3, which is a sequel to one of the most popular action franchises of Bollywood – Baaghi – was the recent outing to hit the big screens this Friday. The film also stars Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role and has a tremendous buzz across. Well, now, the action entertainer’s first-day box-office collections are out and they are huge, in fact, the highest of the year 2020 so far.
As per Box Office India, Baaghi 3 has made a whopping Rs 17.50 crore on its day one, hence making it the biggest opening day for any film of this year so far. The reports added how Baaghi 3 had a chance of crossing the 20-crore-mark; however, the ongoing coronavirus scare seems to have affected its business a bit. As per BOI, 10-15% business of Baaghi 3 was hit by the coronavirus news and the slowing down of the film’s ticket sales was visible from Thursday itself. Baaghi 3 was also the biggest release of 2020 so far, as it got a huge 4300 screens across.
Reportedly, the best numbers of Baaghi 3 came in from Gujarat / Saurashtra, CP Berar, Bihar and Odisha. The collections in Mumbai, Delhi and Punjab, however, were below the mark and are expected to witness a good improvement over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the film has opened to a mixed response. While many have loved the action and its grandeur, a section of people have criticised the makers for being OTT.
