Only a day to go until we finally get to see Irrfan Khan’s magic on the silver screens after quite a long time. His next - Angrezi Medium - is going to release tomorrow i.e., on March 13 and the buzz around it is quite positive, especially after its heartwarming trailer had hit the web. The film boasts of an ensemble cast like Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Deepak Dobriyal, Ranvir Shorey and Pankaj Tripathi among many others.

Back then, the film’s prequel, Hindi Medium, had opened to rave reviews and collected approx Rs 2.81 Cr on its first day and made a total of around Rs 70 Cr. As for Angrezi Medium, the hopes and buzz are quite high. We, at SpotboyE, got in touch with trade analyst Girish Johar to know the same and he said, “We all know that Irrfan is coming after a long time and this one, I am expecting a very good start because the trailer has been well-received. It has a plethora of stars and all of them are fantastic actors and they have their fan-following. Secondly, the film is looking a little up-market niche, mainly for the multiplexes and the best part is that it is trying to give a message, probably in a very entertaining way. That’s what the audiences want, you know.

He added, “As for its first day, I will peg the film to start somewhere between Rs 3.5 crore to Rs 4.5 crore. I hope it does more, but this would be an ideal start for me and then depending upon the word of mouth and audiences’ feedback, it can go up.”

Upon being asked if the coronavirus scare will affect its collection, Girish added, “I don’t think so. The panic is there but the government is saying that everything is under control. And if the film is good, anyone would come and watch it.”

Last night, our editor got the opportunity of watching the Homi Adjania directorial and he gave it three out of five stars. Read the full review here.
