After a dismal performance on Day One, Hansal Mehta’s Aligarh nosedived further. The opening weekend collections of the Manoj Bajpayee-Rajkummar Rao film could not even cross the 1.5-crore mark.
Analysing the poor performance of Aligarh, trade analyst Komal Nahta said, “It’s a depressing film. Plus, Eros (producer) went too low on the publicity.”
Amod Mehra agreed that the film has noteworthy performances but even those can’t save the day. He said, “Aligarh is a disaster.”
Echoing the sentiment, Taran Adarsh said, “The film is niche in its true sense, just not happening.”
Here are the collections of the opening weekend:
Tere Bin Laden: Dead Or Alive fared marginally better, amassing Rs. 1.76 crore.
