After the success of Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra is back with another magnum opus, Mirzya. Based on a popular folk lore of Punjab, the film has a non-linear narrative and shifts between the past and the present.
The movie marks the debut of Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan and Saiyami Kher.
While the audience didn't turn up in huge numbers, but the connoisseurs of good cinema didn't miss the first day first show. Most liked the way the film was made, but there were a few who complained about the movie’s length. They praised the direction and the tight screenplay, however, expected a lot more from the actors.
Overall, audience reactions suggest that the film might not have a great opening but should pick up over the coming week via word-of-mouth publicity. Only time will tell what Mirzya’s fate at box-office will be.
