Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi are all set to entertain audiences with their film Khuda Haafiz. Based on a true event and a real couple, the film promises to have all the entertaining elements.
We got talking to both of them, where Vidyut, for the first time, put forward his funny side whereas Shivaleeka had a lot to disclose about her co-actor. Watch video below:
How sure were you both about the film after hearing the script of Khuda Haafiz?
Vidyut: When I met the director, he told me that it's a true life story and he has spent time with the real characters- Nargis, being played by Sheevalika and Sameer, which I am playing. I was very excited because I have never been offered a love story, especially a true incident. So, it was an experiment and I loved being part of it.
Shivaleeka: It was based on real events and a true love story- I had to audition for it and bag this as I fell in love with Nargis after hearing the brief.
Did you guys meet the couple before playing them?
Vidyut: Our director Faruk Kabir has also written this film, for which he has done a lot of research. And whatever study he did, as an actor, it was enough for me. I have also gone on reki with him before we started shooting for it- where I got to know how this guy is? What is his background? What did he study?- which really helped me to play his character.
Shivaleeka: Faruk sir did not want us to meet the couple and he had his vision behind that. He just asked us to make it as real and as relatable as possible.
This is the first film where we will see you as a romantic hero. You think it will help you to get the romantic hero tag?
Vidyut: I honestly don't want any such tag. I just hope people get entertained with my work and give me a tag of entertainer.
Shivaleeka how was your experience of shooting romantic scenes with someone whom we have always seen doing action scenes?
Shivaleeka: There is definitely that image of him but personally I realised there is so much more to it. It's not only stuck to action. Vidyut has an emotional, funny side with insane humour. Ham to haske pagal ho gaye the.
Vidyut, so can we expect you to do comedy next?
I am doing a film which is an action comedy and I am quite excited about it. I enjoy the genre.
We hear that you guys wanted the film to get released in the theatre?
Shivaleeka: We visioned to release it in theatres but right now we cannot be selfish and ask for a theatrical release. We are just happy that we had planned to release the film during this time and thankfully its releasing on time.
How much are you two missing promoting the film live?
Vidyut: The only thing I am missing is interacting with people in different cities. The media people and fans come and interact with you. The songs of our film are so good that I wish Shivaleeka and I would have got the opportunity to perform on them LIVE in different cities. Uske alva aur kuch miss nahi kar raha hoon as ghar par baithe baithe interview dena hai.
Shivaleeka: This is my second film and I was expecting to promote the film by going out and meeting people.
Vidyut: We even discussed this while shooting onset that jab ham Khuda Haafiz promote karenge tab kya hoga.
