It was a pleasure meeting the very talented Tisca Chopra at SpotboyE office on Friday. Over the years, the beautiful Tisca has doled out some fab performances in TV shows, films and now the web show Hostages. Her role in the Hotstar show has been widely appreciated and she’s struck a chord even with the youth. With films like Taare Zameen Par, OMG! Oh My God, Rahasya and even the short film Chutney, the actress has a body of work that she must be proud of.
During the conversation, we touched upon her entire trajectory, right from the time yours truly had met her on the sets of Manish Goswami’s Sarkar. We picked it up from there as she told us it was in fact that very serial where she got a bit disillusioned with TV and then moved on to mainly films. We asked her which has been her best role till date, on the big screen. Our choice was Ankur Arora Murder Case and she endorsed our selection, saying that it’s also one of the roles she got it right very spontaneously. SEE VIDEO BELOW:
We also touched upon Chutney, her short film which she had produced and acted in.
After her work commitments, it was time to know her take on the #MeToo campaign. Has it fizzled out? Tisca was quite candid about the fact that it has had its fair share of advantages because men are now very cautious. She said that the menace of exploitation was very much prevalent even in her days.
And then we asked her as a parting shot if our ears had picked the right goss that she’s planning to direct a film. She nodded her head and said that she’s working on the modalities. We won't be surprised to see an official announcement soon.
