In an EXCLUSIVE chat with SpotboyE.com Saif Ali Khan, Chitrandga Singh, Radhika Apte and debutant Rohan Mehra spoke extensively about their upcoming film Baazaar. We started the interview asking them about their film, which is based on stock market. Vinod Mehra’s son, Rohan, started the conversation saying, “After bunch of auditions for other films, I really had to fight for this role. I called up Nikhhil Advani and asked him if I can audition for a role in Baazaar. It took me a lot of persuasion and hard work from my side to lock it. I came through the audition route and I got the role.” After Rohan, Chitrangda and Radhika too spilled the beans on how they were cast for Baazaar.
Further, we asked the Sacred Games actress if it was an instant ‘yes’ to the makers. She said, “I had said yes, even before I read the script, because I really wanted to do this film".
During the chat, Saif also spoke about how it is to get up in the morning and learn that your films haven’t done well at box-office. He said, “When you wake up, you’re like ‘Oh No! This hasn’t run, this is terrible’. Then you think you are not going to get out of bed for 2 days. Then people from your family come and say, ‘Has somebody died?’ After a while, when you walk in your pyjamas and think how do I go on? Then, you find the meaning of failures also. The idea is you don’t take failure and success too seriously, you love the job, and you got to do what you love. The idea of film is to make money and it is bad when it doesn’t.”
Saif Ali Khan & Taimur
Moving on, we asked him if he and his daughter Sara talk a lot about cinema. He told us, “She doesn’t give me too many tips, which is good (laughs). She bought a scene over once and asked me how should I do this?” “That was a real compliment and I was like, she respects my acting and wants my advice,” he added with a laugh.
The Nawab Pataudi further told us, “Sara thinks about various things, she’s got her own opinion in many things and follows her heart, which is commendable. We don’t really give each other tips, but whenever she would ask, I am just a phone call away.”
