Interestingly and a bit shockingly, Ranveer Singh beat 4 major stars including the 3 Khans last year. We had caught up with him at YRF Studios last week. The question was inevitable, but his humble answer left us mighty impressed. He said, “I don’t believe in this competition because like I said, we all are artistes, we are all craftsmen. There is no good or bad or better or worse. It’s all different you know if somebody would have done my role, they would have done it differently. There’s no saying who is better, who is worse? I don’t believe in this competition. I’m not even a competitive person so these things don’t really strike me."
Adding in the same vein, he replied, "I am happy that in my scheme of things, things have gone really well. I don’t look upon my body of work in relation to any other artiste. I’m just doing my thing and I’m happy that my thing is going well. Yes, I do understand that numbers stand for something. Big numbers to me mean that many people went to watch the film and given the kind of numbers that Padmaavat has done plus Simmba, it’s a staggering number that means this year I was able to entertain a large number of people and that’s what I want to do.”
SEE THE ABOVE INTERVIEW where he talks about the success of
Simmba, and what it means to him. The Ram Leela actor also talks about the fact that he does not get bogged down by failures. Also, don’t miss his detailed answers on his forthcoming enviable line-up- Gully, 83, Takht.
